Back to Work Tomorrow

So I think I am back on my feet. The infection is 99% gone, there is no more pain and I am not falling asleep every time I stop moving. So its all good. I am off the heavy antibiotics so I am not dealing with the side effects anymore. Yahoo!! I still have an antibiotic cream that I have to use, twice a day for two weeks, but its all good. I am doing as I am told and the up side is I have lost 14 pounds through the course of this. I weigh 4 pounds less than I did after I had my bout of cellulitis. Infections, the new diet. Who knew???

I am not talking about going back to work. I cannot tell you how much I would rather just stay home. The fact that it is freeze your nose boogers cold out there is a big factor. Aw well, someone has to pay the mortgage and put food in the fridge.

I finished crocheting up the last of my yarn leftovers. I got three afghan out of it all. Now the bin that looked like this: ( this was not at its fullest, I did not take a picture when I started)

Now looks like this and that makes me ridiculously happy!!

I still have yarn in the house. I doubt if it will ever be yarn free, but what is left is enough to actually make something with. Its not just bits and pieces.

One blanket is going to The Teacher and the other two will be donated to the local Woman's Shelter. Its win win all around.

I joined a group on Facebook which is called 52 squares in 52 weeks or something like that. A pattern for a quilt square is released  every week and then you get a quilt at the end. Today was week three and its so fun. The squares are little, just 6 inches finished size. I am thinking it will make a nice little cuddle quilt when its done.

These are weeks one and two. The colour in this picture is really off. Quilt block three, which just came out today is a much truer rendition of the actual material colour.

I am hoping to find a nice blue for the sashing material but I have like a whole year to get that figured out.

Yesterday I finally purged out the cook books. I am living proof that you can own a million cook books and still not be a cook

So these will all go to the local rotary book sale. I did keep a few cook books. Ones that I really do use and others that are sentimental. I kept all the note books my Mom kept her recipes in, those are beyond precious.

SO I am on track with my January purge. I think I am a few days behind, but lets face it peoples, we are up in the big numbers so its getting harder.  I have not resorted to counting the recycling yet. Honestly if I did not finish it I would be happy with what I have done already.

Now what I need is to get The Banker over here to put things away in the basement, take the donation stuff away and haul the recycling stuff that needs to go to the textile recycle. Then my house would look not bad. I also need to get the big Christmas tree out of the kitchen.

The only thing I have to do today is plug in the car and shovel the back sidewalk. I should have done it yesterday before it got so cold but I never learn. This is on my list for this afternoon, cause who doesn't love -50 wind chill???. I need to shovel out the recycle dumpster so that can get emptied. I have a bunch of stuff sitting in laundry baskets in the kitchen that needs to go into it but here is no room.  I did the shoveling at the front of the house yesterday thank goodness.

So that's my world so far. On the mend, headed back to a normal routine again. Its all good

Toodles,
Linda
