I am so proud of myself but I hit the target for my January purge. I managed to purge out enough stuff to match the number of each day in January. Its almost 500 things. I still have a few more things that I can get rid of but I was tickled to meet my goal. More is better but I made the goal. I may do this again next year. Two years running and I have managed to meet the target
I will get The Banker over here next weekend and get her to help me haul stuff to the basement and then I will really be a happy happy camper. I even have a garbage bag full of textiles to go to our next textile recycling program. This program has me really excited. They basically take clothing and material that is not fit for wear or use anymore and they recycle it. Shoes, purses, blankets, plush toys. Its a really wonderful thing.
I finally decided on how to sash my little quilt blocks. Best thing ever is I had the material on hand and have not had to buy anything yet.
It looks a little wonky but really its not that bad and once its quilted you will not see that at all. Its going to be a bright, cute little quilt. I am so happy I joined this group.
I hauled recycle out, (two laundry baskets full of the stuff), garbage out, gave the Banker the two afghans to take to the women's shelter. I rearranged a couple of the kitchen cupboards and got stuff put away. When you purge out things you make new homes for stuff that was floating around looking for a place to live. The cook books and donation stuff is all boxed up and ready to go. The Banker has volunteered to take care of all that for me. She is a treasure that woman. Today I have laundry on the go, I made chicken soup. I have done some ironing and worked on the dishes.
This is actually a picture of last weeks soup, I did not take one of this weeks. Also its not chicken soul its turkey. I have finally used that last of that lovely delicious bird I cooked at Christmas time. So yummy. I actually feel like I got stuff done this weekend. I don't always feel that way. I can see the progress beginning to show. No one else may be able to but I can.
I gave away the little baby blanket I made for my co-workers new son. It was well received so that made me feel good.
We had a little shower at work for the baby on Friday. While I am not a fan of having the showers at work, I was please to get to snuggle a new baby for a bit.
I have started another one for another baby. I find this chevron pattern so easy, I am glad it came back in style.
My next big thing is to make a memory quilt from baby clothes that a lady at work gave me. I am also going to start knitting a pair of slippers. These super cold, snowy winter evenings are perfect for crafting. I am more than happy to craft away, avoiding going out on these super cold days.
I am feeling back to my normal self again, thank goodness. I am still dealing with antibiotics but I think its just over kill on the doctor's part. HOWEVER I will do as I am told and use then for one more week. Then I seriously hope I am done with these Shenanigans for a long time.
Now I am off to have a bowl of soup, a warm crusty bun with cheese and a hot cup of tea.
Toddles
Linda
