Getting back to normal? One step at a time

This last week has been a busy one and wonderfully fun but super tiring as well. I did so much gadding around and doing stuff I wore my self out but in a very good way. It was so nice to be able to go and do a few of the things that used to be everyday routine, it was like a breath of fresh air.

It started on Thursday, I had an appointment with my podiatrist for my regular hoof trimming. The Banker kindly took me and then when we got home, she stayed and we cleaned my laundry room. That would be the royal "we", where I sit and mostly direct the keep, donate, toss operation and she does the lion's share of the work. Its so wonderful to have that little room beaten into shape.

Friday I went to No Cook for the first time in months. What a treat!! Out in the real world with my friends and seeing other people. Don\t get me wrong I like being at home and I have by no means been pining away feeling sorry for myself because I have not really gone anywhere that was not medical related since the first of December. I am most happy at home, especially when it is this deeply bone chillingly cold. Plus even though they say its no trouble, I realize that dealing with me and my walker is a pain.

This weekend we did a scrapbooking weekend. Three days of scrapbooking fun with some good friends was just what I needed. I cannot tell you how much I enjoy this and how grateful I am that these wonderful ladies include me. The Banker especially because she does the majority of the lifting and the hauling. Scrapbooking is not a light portable hobby. Its all really heavy and you need so much stuff to work with.

We did the usual Chinese food supper when the weekend was over then I came home. I sat in my recliner and promptly fell asleep. Best Friend called and I nodded off in the middle of the conversation. Rude!  She kindly ended the conversation and I thought I really should go upstairs as I was so tired. I would just sit there for a couple of moments and then I would go. Next thing I knew it was 4:00 in the morning and I had not moved. I just stayed there for the rest of the night. Too weary to make the climb but very happy for having had such a good weekend.

Now its back to the normal routine. I have Busy's mitts to finish and a list of other crafts that are waiting my attention. Life is good.

Its Been a Minute

Well it has been some time since I sat down to do a blog post. This last month has been a bit of a gong show with all sorts happening, good and better and some not so good but that is life. I would say its been a pivotal time in my life. Time to face cold hard truths and face facts and be a grown up. Can't say I'm a fan but needs must and even though I'm not happy about it all but I will do what I must and get on with things. Its the grown up thing to do.

So I will hit the highlights. I'm not sure I can remember all that things that have happened this last month but I will do my best. Plus I'm not sharing it all, this in the internet after all.  Busy and the Carpenter were here and they turned my shower from this

Into this: Isn't it just the most beautiful thing??? I could not be happier with it. Its awesome and just exactly what I had dreamed of since moving into the house.

Its so nice to have a shower and have room to actually move around. I am in love and not ashamed to admit it.

Busy helped me to do some purging, organizing and cleaning while they were here. My house did not know what hit it but man oh man was it nice to have it done. The Carpenter helped too, in-between his jobs. I was more decorative, a sort of decision maker, observer if you will.

Formulating a battle plan.

I will never ever be able to thank them for all that they have done for me. Its overwhelming.

Lots of changes happening. Lots of new things to learn and deal with. I am taking it one day at a time and doing my best to get myself back on track and headed in the right direction. All I will say on this subject is thank God for my family and friends, they are the very best and I could not manage without them.

I did not sit on my arse the entire time. I did stuff, for example I purged and cleaned my two little china cabinets

I am also working on the craft room. My one upstairs spare room is waiting in the wings for its turn. It has become a catchall for things and needs a good straightening. So much to do but the place is really looking great.

I have mitts to knit for Busy and I have started to make hats and scarves for the safe and warm shelter. I am also very pleased to say I sent 7 quilts to the women's shelter. I have a top made for another donation quilt already, just need to get it quilted.

I am thinking my goal is to get some of my crafting supplies used up before I go gathering anything else. I have way too much stuff packed into my little craft room and it needs to be used.

Another thing to look forward to is we have a scrapbooking weekend coming up and that is always a super fun time.

I am hoping to get back into a routine of blogging each week again. I am seriously hoping that all the upheaval of the last two months will settle down and I can get back into a more normal routine. We can always hope.
